Following AC Milan’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona prior to the international break, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said to the press he would not be taking the penalties anymore. He said via MilanNews.it :
“Angry face, a draw today is not good, we had many chances, I missed the penalty, I think I will leave the next one to Kessie.”
“Many mistakes, but we go on. The important thing is not to lose and don’t lose your confidence. We want to win all games, of course.”
“And to think I missed three penalties, the next one I leave to Kessie. I need mental rest, the break comes at the right time.”
Interim manager Daniele Bonera has confirmed the same as he said in his press conference via MilanNews.it:
“If the penalty taker will be Kessie? Ibra said it, I raise my hands. If he said it, it will be Franck.”
So if Milan pick up a penalty tonight, it will likely be Franck Kessie burying it into the back of the net.
