BILD journalist Christian Falk is reporting that AC Milan trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu is in negotiations with Manchester United over a potential move in the summer transfer window as the player has an expiring contract with the Rossoneri. The Turkey international has been with the Rossoneri since the 2017/18 season and has featured as a left winger, left midfielder and a trequartista scoring 27 goals and providing 40 assists in 138 appearances. The report that the midfielder turned down an offer from Juventus in the previous window due to the talks with United.
The Athletic are reporting that Calhanoglu's agent Gordon Stipic pitched the trequartista to Manchester United's chief negotiator Matt Judge but the English club do not seem too keen on the move. United have recently invested heavily in attacking midfielders adding Bruno Fernandes and Donny van De Beek to their squad hence there is no need for Calhanoglu.
Milan want to extend the contract of the no. 10 but his wage demands are very high compared to what the club hopes to offer.
