According to the Icelandic sports site MBL, the AC Milan Women are on the verge of signing defender Guðný Árnadóttir.

Sources have told the site that the player is currently in Milan undergoing medicals. If she signs for the team, then she’ll most likely be a reinforcement for the January window.

Árnadóttiris is a 20-year-old centre-back who, despite her youthful age, is already experienced at the highest level. The player has suited up for her native Iceland at the senior level, most recently during the country’s Euro 2022 qualifiers.

In particular, the defender played for 96 minutes against Ukraine and was instrumental in the team keeping a clean sheet as they won the match 1-0. Árnadóttir also has Champions League experience, as she has played in the competition with Valur (her current team).

To date, the player has played 83 games in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna and has scored a total of six goals in the league.

The fact that Milan are on the verge of signing a player with Champions League experience shows how ambitious they are, as the team is bringing in players who will help them qualify for next season’s competition.

More details about this transfer will be posted as they’re made available. In the meanwhile, stay tuned.
