Pietro Mazzarra of MilanNews.it is reporting that AC Milan are seriously considering Brahim Diaz as the potential trequartista going forward as contract renewal talks with Hakan Calhanoglu are strained due to the wage demands. The youngster has impressed when Calhanoglu has been absent nabbing 3 goals and 1 assist so far this season. Calhanoglu has flashes of brilliance but struggles for consistency. He has been one of the top scorers since the 2017/18 season but still has not hit his peak at Milan.
Mazzarra has said, “Pioli has a very valid alternative [to Calhanoglu] in Brahim Diaz, who wants to do well and, from what emerges, also to stay at Milan”.
MilanNews.it have previously reported that Real Madrid would ask for about 25 million euros for the attacking midfielder as Milan have showed the intent to keep the youngster after his loan deal expires. Milan and Madrid reportedly have a gentleman's agreement to negotiate a permanent move for the former Manchester City midfielder.
