Sky Italia via MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan's management are attempting to avoid a crunch situation with the contracts expiring in the summer of 2022 as they are currently facing with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu this season. Milan will therefore kick off negotiations for the likes of Alessio Romagnoli, Franck Kessie and Davide Calabria this season.

Tuttosport via Calcio Mercato are similarly reporting that the renewal for Kessie in particular is quite important due to the amount of demand for his services. Inter Milan have tried to lure him away on multiple occasions but the player has turned this down. Talks with his entourage are reportedly already open on a long term renewal as he has become an integral part of the team.

MilanNews.it go one step further to include Simon Kjaer and Andrea Conti into the mix. The outlet notes that Kessie and Calabria should be easy renewals. Romagnoli's is expected to be challenging. Conti could be complicated and he may leave. Kjaer would depend on the circumstances closer to the end of his contract.
