MilanNews.it are reporting that Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu is getting closer to a renewal with AC Milan but may be displaced by new arrival Brahim Diaz. Calhanoglu was playing dominant football in 2020 until his ankle injury in mid-October, he has struggled to find form since. Milan are supposed to hold talks with the trequartista over the international break as they look to get this done prior to the winter transfer window when the player could talk to other clubs.
Fabrizio Romano via OneRouteFootball is reporting that Calhanoglu was never actually close to joining Manchester United or in talks with them as he will likely renew his contract with Milan. His contract is set to expire this summer.
AS via MilanNews.it are reporting that Atlético Madrid are very interested in the midfielder and could even make an offer to take him of the Rossoneri's hands earlier. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara need to have the no. 10 close to the top of their renewals priority list.
