MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan will go into the winter transfer window hunting for a centre back after the deadline day disappointments in the summer. Milan are reportedly willing to make a third attempt for Schalke 04 and Turkey centre back Ozan Kabak after failing to secure his signature in the summer and about two years ago. Contacts have reportedly remained open with his entourage and his club are more open to a sale now. The deal in the summer reportedly fell through due to the high price tag and because Schalke did not have a replacement lined up.

The report adds that Milan are also very interested in Hellas Verona youngster Matteo Lovato who is represented by Giuseppe Riso who is on good terms with Maldini and Massara. The defender fits the profile of an ideal ‘Elliot’ signing and was impressive in the fixture against Milan last week. The contacts are currently underway with the club and Maldini briefly touched on Milan's interest in an interview.
