AC Milan had an incredibly busy summer transfer window where Paolo Maldini and Rick Massara worked round the clock to strengthen the squad and improve the club's financials. The deadline day was bittersweet as Milan failed to sign a centre back which was a critical need for Stefano Pioli however the overall window saw a number of coups by the management. Here's a summary of the signings:

SIGNINGS

Pierre Kalulu (RB) - Lyon - Permanent

500,000 euros

The youngster was an early signing and could be considered a prospect for the future. He looked solid in pre-season but has not be given the opportunity to play yet. He is versatile and can play at RB/CB which will be key this year.

Brahim Diaz (CAM) - Real Madrid - Dry Loan

The quick footed trequartista looks very exciting as he rips through defences with his sleek movement. He has already scored for Milan and has been a very impressive addition to add creativity, speed and unpredictability to the side.

Sandro Tonali (CM/CDM) - Brescia - Loan with Option To Buy

10 million euros loan, 15 million euro option, 10 million potential in bonuses.

The coup of the summer, Milan stole Tonali from right under the nose of Inter Milan bringing easily the top Italian youth prospect. The midfielder clearly needs some time to find his feet and to get into a rhythm but looks extremely promising.

Ciprian Tatarusanu (GK) - Lyon - Permanent

500,000 euros

The experienced goalkeeper joins on a three year contract to replace the outgoing Begovic and Reina. He has Serie A experience, he will largely be tied to the cups and saves the club money. We are yet to see him in action since the pre-season.

Jens Petter Hauge (LW/SS) - FK Bodo/Glimt - Permanent

5 million euros

The winger who scored a monster of a goal against Milan in the Europa League was snapped up by the club within days and has already made his debut. He will be backing up Rebic but looks very dangerous with a wicked shot, keep an eye on him.

Diogo Dalot - (RB) - Manchester United - Dry Loan

The final signing of the window to add some competition for Conti and Calabria. The right back was out of favour at United and could use a reset with Milan. He is quick with great crosses, excellent vision and piercing passes.

ADDITIONAL SIGNINGS

Simon Kjaer (CB) - Sevilla - Redemption

3.5 million euros

The centre back was redeemed after impressing toward the end of last season. He has kicked off well but looks slightly slower, maybe he needs to brush off the holiday blues.

Alexis Saelemaekers - Anderlecht - Redemption

3.5 million euros

The energetic winger was picked up for his high work rate but leaves something to be desired with his technical ability. He has been very heavily utilised as both as RW/LW thus far as he covers for Rebic and competes with Samu Castillejo in attack.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (ST) - Contract Renewal

The veteran striker signed back on to lead the Rossoneri for the new season. He is on a one year deal and will look to pick up some silverware. He has started well with 3 goals in 2 games prior to falling ill with the coronavirus ruling him out for a couple of weeks.

Ante Rebic (LW/SS) - Eintracht Frankfurt - Permanent

The Croatia international was signed a year early cutting short his loan with Milan. He looks a little rusty and picked up a shoulder injury already, the winger will have some expectations on his shoulders and needs to bounce back soon.
