AC Milan via their website have officially announced the signing of Manchester United right back Diogo Dalot on a season long loan. The Portugal U21 international has spent two seasons at Old Trafford but has not been able to perform at the highest level. He broke out at Porto FC in the 2017/18 season and was quickly snapped up by the English giants.
The defender completed his medical tests on Saturday evening and signed his contract yesterday at Casa Milan. The deal is a dry loan for the moment. As we reported here, there is a possibility for Milan to negotiate a potential permanent deal with United over the course of the season as is the case with Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid as the clubs chose to defer these talks to get the initial loan deal off the ground.
Dalot has chosen to wear the no. 5 jersey formerly worn by Giacomo Bonaventura and will likely feature after the international break.
