Sport Mediaset via MilanNews.it are reporting that referee Piero Giacomelli and his VAR officer Luigi Nasca will be reprimanded for their poor display in the AC Milan VS AS Roma fixture on Monday. The referee's designator Nicola Rizzoli is apparently dissatisfied with the performance of the referees in charge of the game and will look to take action. The two (Giacomelli and Nasca) will likely miss the next two rounds as a consequence. The main issues was the penalty against Milan followed by the penalty against Roma.

Football Italia are reporting that the duo will be suspended for a month in which they will not be designated any Serie A matches. It is unclear if they will return to referee in the top flight thereafter.

Tuttosport via MilanNews.it reported that the referee did more damage to the game than he did to help it and said that he needs to be stopped immediately.
