Players to Watch

Diego Laxalt

Milan loaned left back Laxalt to Celtic this summer leaving Hernandez without any cover and are now set to face the defender tonight. Laxalt is being deployed as a left midfielder in a 3-5-2 by Celtic and will be taking on either Calabria or new signing Dalot on the wing. He will need to be watched as he is quick and can be a threat, on top of that he has been vocal in the press and needs to be put in his place.

Brahim Diaz

The tie will be a critical game for new signing from Real Madrid, Brahim Diaz. The attacker will be taking the starting spot after Calhanoglu picked up an ankle injury. Diaz has done well with his cameos thus far adding creativity, pace and direct through balls to the play. Diaz has scored once already and this could be a good opportunity to get the Milan fans excited for the rest of the season.

McGregor-Ntcham vs Kessie-Tonali

Milan will win or lose the game in the midfield tonight. McGregor and Ntcham are a difficult partnership to breakdown and Kessie will need to work effectively with Tonali to shut them down and to ensure they do not get overwhelmed by the five man midfield. Milan will need to disrupt Celtic’s build up play to keep a clean sheet and will need to be able to transition the play quickly.

Prediction

Celtic FC 0 - 3 Milan
