Manuele Baiocchini of Sky Italia via MilanNews.it has now confirmed that AC Milan's trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu picked up an injury in training on Tuesday as suspected when he was seen leaving the training ground in crutches. The no. 10 had just returned from international duty with Turkey where he scored a rocket and marked his 50th appearance for his national side. The midfielder will need to be further evaluated but will almost certainly miss Milan's opener in the UEFA Europa League against Celtic FC tomorrow evening.

The current prognosis is a left ankle sprain and he will be out for at least ten days thus will miss Celtic, AS Roma and Sparta Praha. The attacker has been vital for Milan since the arrival of Stefano Pioli as he scored in double figures last season and has kicked off the new campaign with 4 goals and 3 assists thus far. He will most likely be replaced by new arrival for Real Madrid, Brahim Diaz.
