Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan's management are optimistic regarding the renewal of vice captain and goalkeeping phenomenon Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 21 year old shot stopper has just begun his sixth season with the club where he has garnered over 200 appearances at such at tender age whilst also becoming the undisputed no. 1 for Italy's national team. He has kept 76 clean sheets and is now wearing the captain's armband for Milan in the absence of Alessio Romagnoli due to injury.

The keeper reportedly has expressed his willingness to renew as his current contract expires in ten months. Milan and Mino Raiola have lightly touched the issue but have not opened the negotiations at the moment. Paolo Maldini is reportedly eyeing and extension until June 2025 on a salary of 8 million euros plus bonuses. Milan do not want a release clause but this is one aspect that Raiola is looking to include in any potential deal. Milan are looking to open and close negotiations soon.
