AC Milan Beat Inter Milan 2-1 In The Derby As Zlatan Ibrahimovic Nets A Brace

A huge win for Pioli’s men to keep their winning streak.

AC Milan

AC Milan faced Inter Milan in the derby della Madonnina last night in their first real test of the 2020-21 season after three opening wins and emerged victorious again with a strong performance led by veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who came away with a brace. Milan dominated the first half with two early goals from Ibrahimovic who won a penalty early on after getting clipped in the box. The penalty was saved by Handanovic but Ibrahimovic calmly followed it up and slotted home. Rafael Leao did incredibly well to break away in the lead up to the second goal and delivered an inch perfect cross to Ibrahimovic who simply tapped into the goal for 2-0.

Milan played a horrific 45 minutes in the second half but luckily Inter did not do any better. Inter broke out early in the second half and Milan’s defence was split open allowing Lukaku to pull one goal back for Inter. Milan played some scrappy football thereafter and wasted a number of key chances but Stefano Pioli’s substitutions seem to do the trick. Inter were denied a late penalty as it was called offside and Lukaku almost scored a last minute back heel. Milan come away with a huge win and currently sit atop the Serie A table after four match days.
