A Portuguese outlet Renascenca is reporting that Benfica are backing away from their decision to allow young central defensive midfielder Florentino Luis to leave the club. The young regista has been scarcely used this season but is considered to be an important depth player and hence will not leave Portugal to join AC Milan despite the promising negotiations over the past week. Milan and Benfica were reportedly close to an agreement for an 18 month loan with an option to buy for 40 million euros.

The coach seems to have changed his mind and this could dent Milan's hopes to reinforce the the centre of the midfield in the 4-4-2 as the depth is relatively thin with only Rade Krunic to cover Bennacer and Kessie given Biglia's recurring injuries.
