AC Milan striker Piatek held talks with the management earlier this weekend as we reported here. Since then he has sparked interest from two major Premier League teams gearing up for a deadline day showdown as we head into the final week of the mercato. Piatek is being followed by Chelsea as their veteran France striker Olivier Giroud edges closer to joining Inter Milan to boost their odds to keep pace with Juventus in the Scudetto race. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia, Piatek's agent is offering the player to the club.
Krzysztof #Piątek’s agents offered him to #Chelsea to replace Olivier #Giroud, who's getting closer to #Inter. Also #Tottenham are interested in #Milan’s striker. Talks ongoing. #transfer #CFC #THFC

Simultaneously Luca Marchetti via MilanNews.it is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are coming back in for the striker and will launch a bid this week as Jose Mourinho grows desperate to cover Harry Kane in the short term given Spurs struggles in front of goal. It remains to be seen if any deal materialises as Milan only want to sell permanently and are rejecting loan deals as well as Piatek reportedly wanting to fight for his spot. Another issues on the table is the lack of depth at striker given Milan's swap to a 4-4-2. Ibrahimovic and Leao are the current starters while Rebic and Piatek have been the subs.
