First off I gotta say that these early games are an absolute killer and usually Milan don't perform well in them. After a great performance in a mid week cup match against Spal, Milan looked to continue their winning streak against Udinese. Coach Stefano Pioli fielded a similar starting eleven to the one in last weeks league match. Well Milan didn't start that greta and that was obvious by Udinese scoring just 6 minutes in. This was basically all on Donnarumma as he was reckless leaping outside the box and left his net completely wide open. Milan continued this subpar play for much of the first but went into half down a goal.

A quick change at half saw Rebic come on for Bonaventura. The start of the second half was fast and furious, it saw chances on both sides. However Milan were the ones to capitalize as Conti passed it to Rebic who scored his first league goal. Chances continued back and fourth as Gigio Donnarumma stood on his head to keep Milan alive. Hernandez then scored a rocket and it seemed like Milan had control of the match. But like usual Milan let up a goal late which tied up the score at 2-2. As all hope seemed lost Zlatan connected with Ante Rebic who scored in the dying seconds of the match to give Milan the victory.

Now let’s look at the player rating for AC Milan

STARTING LINE-UP

Gigio Donnarumma: Yes, Gigio made a terrible mistake on the first goal but from there on out he was sensational and like usual at times saved Milan. 7/10

Andrea Conti: Conti had a very quiet first half like many other Milan players. In the second half however he improved his play and assisting on the goal from Ante Rebic. But then let Kevin Lasagna score off of a header. 6/10

Simon Kjaer: Kjaer was ok in the first half but in my opinion lacked in focus during the second half as many of the Udinese chances were created from his side. But he did make up for up with a goal line clearance. 6.5/10

Alessio Romagnoli: Romagnoli was a bit more solid then his centre back partner but the game was so open that Romagnoli was tracking back at times but not a bad game at all from the captain. 6.5/10

Theo Hernandez: Theo has been absolutely amazing and his pace on that left side is just destroying teams. Hernandez scored another screamer today and again leads Milan in goals. 7/10

Ismael Bennacer: Bennacer is just great in every way. Milan have been missing a player like him for many years as he does whatever Milan needs and he is skilled enough to control the match. 7/10

Franck Kessie: Kessie wasn't very noticeable in this match but that isn't a bad thing. He ad his good moments and his bad ones but overall Kessie was ok as he isn't expected to make as many runs into the final third. 6/10

Jack Bonaventura: Jack wasn't his best in this match and it seemed that he struggled to get into the match. After 45 minutes Pioli had enough and subbed him out. 5/10

Samu Castillejo: Another very good performance from Samu as he continues to outplay Suso. Samu is active on the pitch and his speed is finally being shown. Oh and I can't forget to mention that beautiful bit of skill in the 64th minute. 7/10

Rafael Leao: It is no secret that I like Leao and how he plays. He showed a lot in this match by creating chances but I just wish he capitalized on the chances created for him. 7/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Zlatan was ok with his physical performance on the pitch as chances were created for him but couldn't capitalize. Zlatan’s impact is also mental because we can see him on the pitch directing players and building confidence. 7/10

SUBSTITUTES

Ante Rebic: Finally things are coming together for Rebic. He had a sensational match and seems to be the answer right now for the left flank. If Rebic can keep this up then it will help Milan in a massive way. 7.5/10

Rade Krunic: Like Franck Kessie I didn't notice Krunic much after he came on. But like usual he did what he needed to do to free up Bennacer. 6/10
