AC Milan centre back Mattia Caldara is very close to rejoining his former club Atalanta on an 18 month loan deal and the club are likely to enter the market for a replacement. Yesterday, agents from Sport11 Arena were at Casa Milan to offer their players to Milan. One of the players with the agency is Liverpool's Dejan Lovren who has been linked with Milan numerous times in the past year. The Croatia international could add experience to the defence and could be a short term solution for at least this year.
Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that Milan are closer to signing Simon Kjaer in the past few hours as Caldara is confirmed going the other way to Atalanta. The former Sevilla defender has fallen out of favour in Bergamo and could be a reinforcement for the defence. The next days will make clear which option Milan go for.
