Since the departure of Christian Zapata AC Milan have been looking for a rotational defender to step up in his place. There have been numerous names thrown out there like Dejan Lovern and Ozan Kabak. It seems as if Milan have finally made the decision and have chosen to sign Leo Duarte from Flamengo.

This move has been all but confirmed as there is video evidence of him saying goodbye to his teammates at Flamengo. Also Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus confirmed that Duarte would be a Milan player in a press conference this past week.
With Duarte taking his medical this week there have been many mixed feelings among Milan fans about this signing. There is a portion of the fan base that would rather see Matteo Gabbia step up and compete for that role as he has impressed in the two preseason games. However Duarte will arrive at Milan and one of the knocks about him is that he lacks concentration. That might be a big concern while playing in Italy because Serie A is more tactical, which means Duarte might have a lot to learn this upcoming season.
