Well, it looks like at least one out-of-contract player won’t be back at Milan.

It’s being reported that Cristian Zapata, who joined Milan from Villarreal back in the 2012-13 season, has not had his contract renewed and is in negotiations to sign with Rio de Janiero club Flamengo in Brazil. Flamengo Vice-President Marcos Braz said that the club was in negotiations with him and another player, Jemerson, and that they would be signing one of them.

The Colombia international was a solid, if unspectacular, contributor to Milan over the years. His playing time has been limited over the past few years, only coming in as cover when other players were suspended or injured, only making 148 total appearances in seven years.

Good luck back in South America, Cristian.
