Lucas Biglia appears to be on his way out of Milan, and that’s probably for the best

Lucas Biglia appears to be moving on from AC Milan, with Fiorentina looking like the most likely destination for the former Argentina international. It’s reported that Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella wants to reunite with the former Lazio midfielder, as he was brought to Milan when Montella was in charge of the club.

Milan has been repeatedly linked with Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout, but at this point it’s uncertain if the two deals are related or if they are being handled separately, that is, if the rumors are true.

Biglia had a rough time at Milan, as he missed most of last season through injury and was also injured during his first year at the San Siro. He’s also 33 years old, and players suddenly improving and becoming healthier in their thirties just doesn’t happen.

Milan should try and shed his salary and get something for the midfielder, even if it’s just a fraction of what they paid for him. It’s best for both parties if he’s allowed to move on and allows Milan to bring in a new defensive midfielder, perhaps even Arsenal’s Luca Torreira?
