Alessandro Lucci, the agent of both Suso and Davide Calabria, was at Casa Milan for a meeting yesterday. And while the issue of contracts might have come up for both of them, one of the discussions was probably about a raise and the other one was probably about where the player will be playing next year.

Davide Calabria has pretty much claimed the starting right back position at Milan for himself this past season, and he’s hung on to it even with a healthy Andrea Conti. Ignazio Abate allowed to move on during the summer transfer window in part because of Calabria’s performances this season. If anyone probably deserves a raise, it’s him. Suso, however, is probably a different story.

Suso was rumored to be on the move all last year, only for him to stay at Milan last year. So will he be sacrificed in order to allow the club to satisfy UEFA’s FFP rules? He’s certainly a candidate, with new manager Marco Giampaolo employing a formation that doesn’t use wingers.

If Suso is gone, then Lucas Paqueta and Krzysztof Piatek need to be the key players for Milan next season, as the safety blanket will be gone.

On to the links.
