Jordan Veretout’s agent at Casa Milan for a meeting, is the midfielder set for a move to Milan?

AC Milan brass appear to be getting closer to another name on their rumored shopping list today, as the agent of Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout is at Casa Milan for a meeting today.

Mario Giuffredi, Veretout’s agent, also represents current Milan player Andrea Conti, and also represents Napoli fullback Mario Rui. While left back isn’t necessarily a position of need, despite rumors saying that Diego Laxalt is set to leave the club, it’s worth noting that the Rui appears to be on his way out of Napoli.

Does this mean that Veretout will be wearing Rossonero anytime soon? Perhaps, as Milan look to rebuild their midfield after a disappointing season in which Milan missed out on Champions League football by the thinnest of margins.

Veretout appeared a have a good season at Fiorentina, even if the club as a whole had a rather shocking season. The Viola were supposed to be in the running for a European spot, however they went on a late-season slide that saw them barely escape relegation. They’ve since been taken over by an American, Rocco Commisso, who was linked to a purchase of Milan last year. Commisso has said all the right words about wanting to bring back glory to Fiorentina and selling Veretout wouldn’t necessarily make a lot of sense.

Patrick Cuturone has also been linked with a move heading the opposite direction, however that move appears to be unlikely for a variety of reasons. Veretout, however, appears set to depart the club, with Arsenal and Napoli both allegedly interested in the French midfielder. Milan have been linked to a few other midfielders, so we will see if this deal gets done, or if Milan are forced to look elsewhere for new midfielders.

Either way, something appears to be afoot with Giuffredi at Casa Milan, although he is the agent of Andrea Conti, so him going to Casa Milan isn’t the strangest thing in the world. It could be something, it could be nothing. We’ll see in a few days.
