Pre-Match
AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso decided to move away from his regular 4-3-3 formation to a 3-4-3. This gave Mattia Caldara his first start since September 20th against Dudelange in the Europa League. Gattuso also gave starts to Pepe Reina, Diego Laxalt and Samu Castillejo. Lazio fielded an equally strong side putting Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the starting eleven.
First half
No highlights to show from the first half but Milan continued their awful form on the offensive end in the first 45 minutes. Milan barely created any chances and only registered one shot on goal. Their lack of creativity made the first half gruelling to watch.
Second half
Much of the second half was similar to the first half with Milan not creating any chances and struggling to build anything.
At the 58th minute Correa gave Lazio the lead after a counter attack off a Milan corner.
