Milan Player Ratings: AC Milan 1-1 Parma

Another dull and uninspiring performance from the boys in red and black

Coming off of a good win against Lazio, Milan looked to increase the gap for a Champions league spot. Many fans waking up early in the morning hoped they could watched their team dominate against a Parma side who has struggled for much of the year. Instead Milan put in a very uninspired performance. Again AC Milan show that when they are in the final third, they lack creativity and are unsure how to produce chances.

After a back and forth start to the game the pace of the match died down as we saw few attacking chances from both teams. Both Milan and Parma could not capitalize on their chances and they entered the half scoreless. Finally, in the 69th minute Suso put in a cross that found Samu Castillejo who headed it in the back of the net. After scoring, Milan created a few more chances but failed to capitalize on any of them. In the final minutes of the game Fabio Borini fouled a Parma player outside of the box which gifted Parma a prime opportunity to score off of a free kick. Bruno Alves did exactly that as he put the free kick in the back of the net. After 90 minutes the match ended in a draw.

Now we shall look at the player ratings. Be sure to comment your thoughts below and follow us on Twitter @SBNRossonero

STARTING LINE-UP

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Back from injury Gigio had a good match. He made a few saves to keep Milan from conceding. Gigio was part of the reason that Parma was denied many of their chances. However he could have made a better effort on the free kick in the final minutes. 6/10

Andrea Conti: Given an opportunity to prove himself in this match, Conti fell flat. Conti is supposed to be the more explosive and creative of our right backs. In this game he did not bring anything to the final third. 5.5/10

Cristian Zapata: Getting the starting nod to give Matteo Musacchio a rest, Zapata proved he is a very reliable back up player. He made few mistakes and shut down many of the Parma’s chances. 6/10

Alessio Romagnoli: Another brick wall performance from the captain. Like every other game he continues to prove why he could be one of the best defenders in the world. 6/10

Ricardo Rodriguez: Having a fairly quiet game we did not hear much from Rodriguez in this match. Not contributing much on the offensive end many of his crosses sailed over the heads of the attackers. On defence Rodriguez was fairly solid not giving up many chances. 5.5/10

Franck Kessie: As the game went on the less we heard of Franck Kessie. One great chance created by Kessie was ruled offside by just a hair. Other than that chance not much was created by Kessie. 6/10

Tiemoue Bakayoko: Similar to the rest of the squad Bakayoko did not do anything special in this match. Bakayoko stood strong in the central of midfield making many challenges to break up some of the build up created by Parma. 6/10

Hakan Calhanoglu: Another game where Calhanoglu got the start in the midfield and another game that shows just how valuable Paqueta is to this AC Milan team. Calhanoglu is supposed to be the most creative in this midfield but in this game it seemed he had a hard time breaking through the Parma defence. 5.5/10

Suso: Well what is there to say about our attackers in this game. All of them had trouble in the final third. Suso continues to show he is a one trick pony in the right side. On almost every play Suso tries to cut in and cross with his left foot, he doesn't do much else. 5.5/10

Krzysztof Piatek: Again Piatek is not given many chances to put the ball in the back of the net. Once Cutrone came on for him Piatek looked more dangerous and the chemistry between them seems to be developing nicely. 6/10

Fabio Borini: Well this was a very poor game for Fabio Borini. Not contributing much on the offensive end and many times halting attacks in progress. Also Borini was the one who gave up the free kick to Parma in the final minutes of the match. 5/10

SUBSTITUTES

Patrick Cutrone: Once Cutrone came on the pitch he brought loads of energy. He brought life to the attack for parts of the match and was integral in creating some chances. When Paqueta is back Milan should look to use Piatek and Cutrone in a formation playing together. 6/10

Samu Castillejo: Like many other attacking players Castillejo had an underwhelming performance. However he did score to give Milan the lead with a very nice header off of a cross from Suso. 5.5/10

Lucas Biglia: Coming in to bring a more defensive mentality to the squad Biglia was fine as he was not the cause of the goal from Parma. Rumours have been swirling of Biglia possibly leaving Milan to go to France. If Milan get a good offer they should consider selling the aging Biglia. 5.5/10
