Milan host Sassuolo as the rossoneri will be looking to capitalize on Inter Milan’s stumble against Cagliari to jump ahead of their crosstown rivals to claim third place in the Serie A table.

The biggest news about the squad list for the match against Sassuolo has to be the inclusion of Franck Kessie after he took a knock against Lazio in the midweek Coppa Italia semifinal. It seems that the Ivorian will be available to play against Sassuolo, but the question still remains if he’s fit enough to be in the starting XI.
️ Coach Gattuso on the midfield: "Our boys were good at improving the technical and tactical level in the midfield. Biglia is an important player for us, things have changed in these recent months. We have to put him in a condition to play at his best"#MilanSassuolo

If Kessie can’t play, then Lucas Biglia is likely to get a recall to the lineup, as Gennaro Gattuso still considers the Argentine a key player for the team, although his position as a defensive midfielder has gone to Tiémoué Bakayoko. Perhaps we’ll see Biglia play alongside Lucas Paquetà and Bakayoko, with Bakayoko playing more of the “box-to-box” role with Biglia playing in front of the back four.
No matter who plays, Milan have more than enough ability to put Sassuolo away easily, as the visitors have not had a good run of form recently, and Milan was able to put four past them earlier in the season, despite not even playing with a striker. Piatek should have a field day with the defenders, and if Milan are to make a move to ensure Champions League football for next season, it has to start today.
