AC Milan entered today’s game in 4th and only five points behind a listless Inter team whose loss 1–0 this weekend gives Milan or AS Roma the chance to get a little closer to 3rd. Roma with the early chances in the first 10 minutes in the game as a helter-skelter start. Ricardo Rodriguez was in the right place, 6 minutes in, to stop a close volley from Roma. This would be a sign of things to come as Roma put the pressure on most of the game after the first 30.

It was back and forth in the opening 20 minutes with Gigio Donnarumma making a big diving save to his right as Edin Dzeko fires hard but within Gigio’s reach. Then a few minutes later a high and long ball is put into new striker Krzysztof Piątek but the pass was a little too long and he couldn’t get a touch in to beat the Roma goalie 1v1.

If you want you can call us Nostradamus that’s fine because just after we called for some more Paqueta he came through winning the ball, getting free, and finding Piatek for his 3rd Rossoneri goal. The January replacement for Higuain has been firing on all cylinders and when he gets a good ball Piatek is just deadly in front of goal.

Donnarumma kept having to make multiple high quality saves to keep the Rossoneri lead. Here he keeps another great shot by out of the net and does it again and again to end the 1st half. It cannot be understated how Gigio kept Milan in the game Here Roma started to get the better chances and would start to play better.

The second half gets underway and Roma comes out firing with a goal in the 46th as Mateo Musacchio defects a cross straight into Donnarumma who can only watch as it bounces off to him and is put in leveling the game at 1–1.

Then in the 52nd minute, we found out that Serie A has adopted some new rules to related to the playing of the Super Bowl as Suso is brought down by Roma linebacker Kolarov. There might have been an offside earlier in the play but this is ridiculous and should have been called for a penalty kick.

The rest of the game saw limited chances for Milan as Donnarumma just continued to make save after save after save each more impressive, earning that salary and getting Milan the draw. He was without question the man of the match followed by Piatek whose goal-scoring ability will be crucial to the rest of the season. You always want to win a game especially when you have a direct rival for the Champions League across from you. Still, a draw is satisfactory on the road and still keeps Milan in 4th place and putting pressure on 3rd. That should make this by no means a moral victory but keeps the status quo. Now the Rossoneri need to take care of business beating the teams below them in the table, especially the ones in the bottom half.
