31 Days Remembering Players From Milan’s Past, Each Date Will Feature A Player Who Donned The Jersey Number.

Clarence Seedorf joined AC Milan in 2002 and embarked on a decade long journey with the club where he would go on to win every single trophy and become a true legend for the club. Seedorf is a Champions League savant lifting the trophy with three different clubs and doing so twice with Milan as well as Ajax and Real Madrid.

Seedorf was the complete midfielder he was a pinpoint passer, had a wicked long shot, was physically dominant and most importantly was intelligent on the ball and always aware. Nicknamed ‘Il Professore’ Seedorf was a masterful midfielder who absolutely devastated oppositions everywhere building one of the most formidable midfield partnerships in history alongside Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso. Seedorf was the main transition point from the defence to the attack for Milan as Pirlo looked to distribute forward and Gattuso was expected to stay relatively defense oriented, he was the one who carried the ball forward and was the starting point for the Rossoneri's counter attacks for a decade. The Netherlands international was indispensable for the Rossoneri and was dependable, his combination with Kaka was the driving force behind Milan's 2006-07 Champions League victory as the duo beautifully linked up and tore teams in the competition apart. Seedorf was a leader for Milan and he was truly one of the finest midfielders.

Top Highlight

One of the best memories of Seedorf by far is the 2003-04 Derby della Madonnina where Milan and Inter were tied 2-2 going into the final ten minutes. At the 85th minute, Seedorf picked up the ball about 20 yards outside the box and absolute smashed the ball with his right foot burying it into the back of the net silencing the Inter fans and shocking everyone one the pitch.
