Suso spoke to the press ahead of AC Milan's tough encounter away at Juventus. The Spain international has been the recipient of lots of criticism from fans as he his inconsistency has proliferated this season.
“I really like being at Milan,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia. “I could have left in each of the last two years, but I didn’t.
“I stayed here because I wanted to. I didn’t cost anything and, considering this, I feel I have given a lot back to Milan. To the supporters I would like to say: have faith in me.”
“The fans can jeer, because neither I nor the squad are doing well. But I’m convinced that I don’t need to prove anything. The people know what I can do.
“If they criticise me, it’s because they know I can do more and that I’m capable of it.
“If a player is not criticised, it’s because they don’t expect anything from him.”
Suso has scored one goal and assisted once this season. His goal was the match winning free kick against SPAL.
