Krzysztof Piatek has struggled for AC Milan since the final months of the 2018/19 season and has not looked much better in the start of the 2019/20 season. The Poland striker has not scored from open play this season and has relied on two penalties to open his tally. Moreover, Milan have acquired Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic from Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively who can both replace him.
From Spain: Barcelona eye €50m-rated Piatek as Suarez replacementhttps://t.co/PWz0SGO9JQ— SempreMilan (@SempreMilanCom) September 26, 2019
Sempre Milan report that the new no. 9 has been garnering strong interest from Barcelona as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez whose age seems to be catching up with him. Other reports also suggest interest from Manchester United for the former Genoa striker. Milan acquired Piatek for €35 million only in January but a report from the Gazzetta dello Sport via Calcio Mercato estimates that his value has depreciated to about €25 million over his 10 months at Milan largely due to his poor form. The initial report however mentioned that Barcelona were planning an offer where Milan want €50 million for the striker. It is unclear whether Piatek would be sold or not if an offer does come through in January however the interest is quite surprising given his poor form recently and his singular breakout season as his only advertisement.
