Sky Jounalist di Stefano is quoted by MilanNews.it saying,
“My impression is that they go towards a three-man defence, with a right-back who will form part of the central defense,”
“This is why in the last hours we talk about Duarte, and in January Milan could look towards a defender.”
Stefano Pioli in his press conference spoke of the fluidity of his tactics and the possibility of playing with a three man defence via Sempre Milan. Milan have been playing with a three man defence during games as Theo Hernandez goes forward to support the attack, however, the vulnerability at right back has cost Milan dearly as both Conti and Calabria have been poor this season. Leo Duarte is expected to start from the get go against SPAL for AC Milan to fill in this defensive void.
Last week, we wrote a profile on the in game formations utilised by Pioli. Have a look at the phases of the 3-2-3-2 and 3-2-2-3 here.
