One of the longest international breaks for Milan comes to a close and we look forward to a new day. Unless you were under a rock then you know this “new day” is the appointment of Stefano Pioli as the new manager at Milan after Malidni, Boban & Co sacked Marco Giampaolo following the win over Genoa that looked like anything but confidence-inspiring. After the Genoa game management made the call to replace Giampaolo and to say the least, the fan base is not in total agreement. I for one am fine with the change but now our season rides on this decision and maybe any help we can get in January. No matter your opinion it’s not gonna change the fact we have a new coach who we should all support.
It looks like Milan may be returning to the 4-3-3 that was used last year by Gattuso with the real questions being who will start up top between Piatek, Leao, and Rebic. The midfield looks like it will feature Lucas Biglia as he is a player Pioli is very familiar with from his time at Lazio. To many fans smiles Hakan Çalhanoğlu after his controversial international break is projected to be on the bench with Lucas Paqueta starting which I think is a good thing as Paqueta brings more to the table at this point than Çalhanoğlu does. The details of it at this point doesn’t matter, the only thing that does is getting the win and trying to get back on pace to get a top 4 place.
Forza Milan!
