Franck Kessie has been developing ever since joining AC Milan in 2017. The midfielder has become one of the best players at the club and in Italy. The Ivorian has attracted interest from elite clubs all over Europe, Milan might need to sell him in order to cope with Financial Fair Play regulations. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Kessie, and the Rossoneri could accept an offer of €45 million for the Ivory Coast international.
This season, Kessie has scored three goals and assisted twice in 18 Serie A appearances. He is the key of the Milan midfield, Gennaro Gattuso is a fan of the 22-year-old and would like to keep him at the club. Milan’s financial difficulties are no secret, in order to spend big in the summer, players need to be sacrificed. UEFA is keeping a close eye on the club and will monitor any activity in the transfer market. The club has no way to deal with the sanction that was placed on them, the only option is to sell key players.
According to Calcio Mercato, Milan could sell Kessie this summer. The player will be officially purchased by Milan from Atalanta during the next transfer window. The deal will cost around €28 million, other clubs could be looking to offer double that fee. Profit will be made from the sale of Kessie, though will the club be able to find a proper replacement?

Currently, Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia are injured. With two injury prone midfielders in the squad, that leaves Tiémoué Bakayoko as the only proper central midfielder in the squad. AC Milan did a great job of beating multiple top clubs in the race to sign Kessie. He is young and talented, he is happy at the club and is willing to stay for a long time. Nowadays, most young talents are very expensive and highly rated, Kessie is among them. Milan sporting director Leonardo should take into consideration the potential of the player and how difficult it will be to find a quality replacement.
Selling Franck Kessie isn’t going to be a wise move. Clubs such as Chelsea and Tottenham are in line to sign him, Milan has a jewel at the club that isn’t properly appreciated. The former Atalanta man could develop into one of the best players in the world. All of Europe is aware of his talent and elite clubs are willing to spend a lot of money to secure his signature. AC Milan need to keep Kessie for as long as possible, he is a key player at the club and will continue to benefit the team for the years to come.
