Krzysztof Piatek was subbed on for Patrick Cutrone in the match against Napoli, and if Gennaro Gattuso’s comments after the match are to believed, don’t expect the two of them to be playing on the pitch very much anytime soon.
Gennaro Gattuso was pleased with Milan’s goalless draw against #Napoli , but warned Krzysztof Piatek and Patrick Cutrone won’t play together for a while https://t.co/yo8nkTwpt3 #ACMilan #MilanNapoli #SerieA pic.twitter.com/7rKb75p94W

Gattuso told DAZN that he could see Piatek and Cutrone playing at the same time, but just not yet, saying:
Yes, but not right now. I don’t like getting pinned back with a line of four in midfield, otherwise you risk losing too much ground.
For now, they won’t play together, because it’s an issue of balancing the team. When we did use two strikers, we were too unbalanced, so I won’t do that for now.
To be fair to Gattuso, Milan did seem to get overwhelmed in midfield when playing in a 4-4-2 with two wingers and two strikers, and including Lucas Paqueta pretty much means that Milan will be playing with three central midfielders from here on out.
With Milan shelling out so much cash, Piatek will probably get the starting nod more often than not, and maybe that’s for the best, with Cutrone not feeling the pressure to be the star at this point in his career.
