Both Luigi Rocco and Fabio Borini spoke to the media after Milan’s 2-0 victory over Genoa.

Borini said:

It was a hard-fought victory. We struggled a bit in the first half, but that’s normal when playing in Genoa. Despite this, we remained solid and played as a team. In order to qualify for the Champions League, we have to secure wins like this. My goal? I’m happy because it helped the team achieve three points. Gigio? I believe he’s the best goalkeeper in Italy – he represents both the present and future of AC Milan. Paquetá? I was amazed by him, both on a physical and tactical level. He likes to display his skills, but he’s very intelligent at the same time. Napoli? We’re aware that we’ll have to put in the same kind of performance from the game in Naples, however, we’ll need to cut out the mistakes. It’s a quick turnover and it’ll be a different match, but we hope to achieve the same result.

Honestly, after that game, every single Milan player needs to thank Gigio Donnarumma for all of the times he bailed out the team for some really shoddy defense in the first half. And while Milan looked dominant in the second half and kept a clean sheet, those kind of chances can’t be allowed against good opponents, or Milan will get plenty of goals scored on them, just like Napoli did in the first game of the season. Hopefully Milan will play much better defense next week.
