Empoli will host AC Milan tonight, featuring a battle of two teams near the bottom of the standings. And while Milan have two games in hand over most of the teams above them in the table, the Rossoneri still have dug themselves quite a hole early in the season.

The biggest news of the day is that it has been confirmed that Gonzalo Higuian would not be available for selection today, as he’s been left in Milan with a slight injury. Patrick Cutrone is also not able to start, as he’s still not at full fitness after sustaining an injury during the last international break, but he’s at least on the bench. This means that Fabio Borini is starting at striker, which isn’t an outcome that anyone really wanted.

Empoli have chosen to go with a rather attacking formation, as they’ve gone with a 4-3-1-2, and this should put some pressure on the Milan defenders. The defensive record of Milan hasn’t been great, so we’ll see just how effective Empoli will be.

So how do you think Milan will do? Can Borini step up? Will another one of the Milan forwards be able to get a goal or two? Let us know in the comments.
