One of the effects of the match against Genoa being postponed is that Hakan Calhanoglu will now be suspended for the match against Napoli.

While yeah, it’s not ideal to face Napoli down Calhanoglu, well, that’s the breaks. It’s a quirk of the schedule to face Napoli the second match of the season, and it’s taken an immense tragedy for Milan’s opening match against Genoa to get postponed. At the very least, Gennaro Gattuso can now plan ahead and his team has an extra week of rest to get ready for the match against Napoli, so the disadvantage of being down a player might be cancelled out by having Mattia Caldara, Tiémoué Bakayoko, et al, all fully integrated into the side.
