According to the latest reports in Italy, Milan will soon rescind Montolivo’s contract and he will become a free-agent.
It seems like the Italian midfielder has interest from Parma and a couple other smaller Italian clubs.
Calcio Mercato has reported this as well as that his future should be clearer by Friday. There are contradicting reports as it tends to happen in calcio, who say that he might finally stay at Milan. One from FootballItalia says Montolivo is just flat out refusing to leave which probably led to this report of rescinding his contract. He has been told conclusively that he is not part of the Coach Gennaro Gattuso’s plans. He even had the captain’s armband taken from him by new arrival Leonardo Bonucci last season and this summer has been urged to move elsewhere, but he has rejected every single offer.
Either way something has to be done.
Montolivo made 24 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri last season, contributing a goal and two assists. So with dwindling appearances and a dip in form Milan would be wise to get him off the books and rescind his contract or sell him for cheap.
At this point he is not worth the hassle.
What do you think Milan fans? Rescind or wait it out? Let us know in the comments below.
