The mega-deal is still on, despite some last minute delays by Gonazlo Higuain’s camp.
Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly desperate to return to Juventus, so much so that there are reports that he’s willing to take a pay cut to return.
Bonucci’s agent is still in the meeting with Juve. Caldara’s agent and Higuain’s brother-agent is also expected to attend the meeting soon as all parties involved are trying to close this big swap deal. [MilanNews]

Mattia Caldara looks set to be swapped straight up for Bonucci, which is a brilliant piece of business by new Milan General Manager Leonardo. Even if he’s not the most beloved person in Milan history, having taken up the helm at arch-rivals Inter Milan, his ability to land deals has been remarkable in the short time he’s been at the club.
Higuain is also reportedly asking for a raise, and doesn’t want to go on loan to Milan, preferring a permanent move. but as it’s been noted, Milan need a structured loan deal to remain in compliance with FFP.
Of course all of this means that Nikola Kalinic, Carlos Bacca, and Andre Silva’s time at Milan is surely coming to an end. Bacca is reportedly nearing a deal to head back to Villarreal, and that’s probably for the best.
After watching Kalinic “play” for Milan last night against Tottenham Hotspur in the USA, he can’t be on his way fast enough. Atlético Madrid are reportedly interested in his services, so please, no one show them the tape from last night, okay?
Here’s hoping this deal (finally) get done, as it’s been in the press far too long for it to be healthy for the players involved to stay put. Just make the deal for Higuain, and while it might be expensive, it’ll be worth it if (or hopefully when) Milan qualify for the Champions League.
