Sassuolo’s general manager Giovanni Carnevalli said he wasn’t interested in any loan swap deals involving Domenico Berardi and Manuel Locatelli, despite what had been reported in the press.
And who can blame him?

With Milan’s new found wealth, can they just go out and buy a new player and not bother with these loan-swap deals? If Milan want Berardi, they should shell out the cash and buy him and if they want to loan Locatelli to Sassuolo, then by all means, send him on his way. Conflicting loan deals are something that clubs do when they’re broke or looking to save some money, not a deal a team should do that is looking to improve their squad.
So yeah, count me as one who isn’t thrilled with this idea either.
