Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia has announced that he’s retiring from international football after Argentina’s loss to France.

He fold Fox Sports after the match,

This is football. We leave with great sadness, because it is the end of the road for some of us. I hope that those who follow can work with less pressure and take Argentina to where it deserves to be.

It’s time for me to step aside, to be honest with myself, to say there is a new generation rich with talent and it’s time for them to take over.

The 32 year-old Biglia barely made the Argentina squad after suffering a back injury back in April, but he failed to make an impact on the pitch during the tournament. Biglia retires with 57 appearances and one goal for Argentina.
