Gennaro Gattuso spoke with Milan TV yesterday about a number of topics, but the most interesting things that Gattuso had to say were about the summer recruitment strategy at the club.
In regards to the recruitment, Gattuso said:
Our strength? I think it was the group, the desire of the lads and their mentality. I think that’s what we need to start from next season.
I hope everyone who arrives will have that mentality, because it’ll be crucial. I’ve said many times that an individual can win you a few games, but it’s the team that makes you get to the end.
We need to start from that mentality and those ideas.
We have to raise the bar next season, and that starts with pre-season. I only know one way to raise the bar: to work, have desire, and never be satisfied.
It’s the same at almost every single football club and it’s the goal of almost every single coach or manager, getting everyone on the same page and getting everyone to work hard on the same goal. Gattuso seems to have the ability to motivate the players and to turn a collection of players into a team.
Hopefully he’ll have some input on the players that will be coming into the club.
Here’s the whole interview that was posted on the club’s Twitter account.
