Per Corriere dello Sport, teenage starlet Gianluigi Donnarumma has rejected a €60 million move to UCL runners-up Liverpool. Given Milan’s current financial state and the numerous rumors surrounding a move away from the club, this comes as quite a surprise.
Donnarumma has been linked with an exit since the end of the season due to the tumultuous relationship sparked between himself and the Curva Sud, as well as his agent’s poor relationship with Fassone and Mirabelli. ”Dollarumma”, as he’s been referred to, has supposedly lost the support of Milan’s most faithful.
Reports have surfaced highlighting the tension between Donnarumma and his agent, the notorious Mino Raiola, due to the latter’s incessant insistence on a move away from Milan.
With the rapid onset of the summer transfer window, Gattuso as well as the Milan hierarchy are frustrated by the lack of assurances regarding Donnarumma’s future. This surely begs the question, if Donnarumma doesn’t want to play for a team competing in the Champions League final (where goalkeeping is the primary necessity), where else could he possibly want to play?
