According to a report from mlssoccer.com’s Charles Boehm, he reports from Radio Rossonero, Milan’s 31-year-old right back and youth product may be looking for a move to Major League Soccer this summer. Ignazio Abate has made 221 appearances for Milan since returning in 2009, he is also a product of the Milan Academy and has been one of the most consistent players for nearly a decade.
Still, Abate’s minutes have started to decline with the signing of Andrea Conti this summer and the emergence of Davide Calabria from the Milan Primavera. Having only played 785 league minutes this season, a move to MLS could be what the Abate needs and wants if his goal is to be playing every week. No specific destinations are mentioned but at the right price he could be very good mid-season pick up for a team needing a right back/wingback.
