Gianluigi Donnarumma is once again subject to rumors of an exit this Summer from the San Siro. This time it’s his devilish agent, Mino Raiola, who also represents superstars like Paul Pogba and Marco Verratti is said to be growing convinced that Donnarumma would be best served exiting to greener pastures elsewhere next season.
With Calcio Mercato reporting, it will take at least €60 million before they will even entertain the idea of selling him.
Europe’s mega clubs, Real Madrid and PSG, are expected to be the main team’s searching for Gigi, after being approached by Raiola, who is once again pulling the strings on behalf of Donnarumma.
Here at the Offside, we have our thoughts on Raiola, but it’s clear he is hell bent on making Gigi more money and not in the future, but now.
All this despite the ‘keeper and his desire to leave San Siro was put on the back burner last summer after the dramatic change of heart in him. Who went from submitting a transfer request to then signing a contract extension later that year, it seems more chaos is afoot.
Donnarumma is undoubtedly a generational talent, with over 100 games played already and his 35 clean sheets at the ripe age of 19.
So, him leaving would be a huge blow to the team. However, if he wants to leave, I say let him, the money that comes in can buy a serviceable goalie and other players who want to be here. Then, maybe all the negative drama surrounding him can be a rallying cry for the rest of the team.
One can hope.
What is certain is that this drama seems to be going to stretch deep into the Summer once again.
