The postponement of the Derby della Madonnina after the tragic passing of Davide Astori was necessary and now we have a new date. April 4th is the date and will give Milan brutal back-to-back as they enter the final stretch of the season. After this weekends 3–2 win over Chievo Milan keeps pace and is still just 5 points off Inter and the final Champions League spot. They will now face Juventus on March 31st in Turin and then come home to host rival Inter in a must win if you want to qualify for the Champions League.

The first half of April will be crucial to Milan’s chances to of making the Champions League with games against Inter (4th–54 pts), Juve (1st–75 pts), and Napoli (2nd–73 pts) in a 16-day span. To make it up to fourth Milan has to steal some points from this stretch in early April. Taking care of business against Lazio (5th–64 pts) and Roma (3rd–59 pts) has positioned the team well but digging yourself out of a hole is never easy and more points will be needed. If you take care of business against the teams you should, then getting as many points as you can against the top 5 is a must to secure a miraculous comeback season and a Champions League place.
