Gennaro Gattuso has given his Milan side a 30% chance of overcoming Arsenal in the Europa League, according to ESPN. Milan lost in the first leg 2-0 at home in the San Siro and now Gattuso said while chances are slim, he can see a way to do right by the fans.
He said,
“We’ve still got a 30 percent chance of going through and we’re not going to London for a holiday. We need to respect our glorious shirts.”
For many Milan fans that is the right sentiment to have going into London this Thursday. Gattuso also talked about the Rossoneri’s Champions League hopes being left to the Serie A and their performance there. He said,
“The league table is finally looking pretty for us. Our objective is there in front of us, but we’ve got to take things game by game. I was a bit worried because we’d not lost in two and half months until Arsenal so we were afraid we might struggle after going so long without losing, but the team responded well.”
As for Gianluigi Donnarumma, he is more confident saying to SKY Sports after Sunday’s last gasp win over Genoa 1-0,
“The result is just what we needed to believe we take the Gunners at the Emirates, ”It was a fundamental win [in Genoa] which gives us great belief in view of the trip to London,” “We go there with nothing to lose.”
After the weekend’s win, Milan have extended the unbeaten run to 9 games in Serie A and are sitting pretty with a good chance to sneak into the top four and earn a bid to the Champions League.
