Milan in for Memphis Depay?

Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mirabelli has added the Dutch winger Memphis Depay to the shortlist of players for the summer mercato. Depay, who was once tipped as the next Ronaldo at Manchester United, has found his footing at Lyon with 14 goals in 39 games since his move to France.

Depay would offer us a true left winger that we don’t have, thus allowing Calhanoglu to play in his more natural attacking midfield position. At the tender age of 23, Depay’s lack of consistency appears as his biggest weakness, but with the way Gattuso has been reinvigoraring players perhaps that isn’t too much of a concern.

The biggest concern for us would be issues around his buy back clause with Manchester United. If Depay heats up even more, it may be impossible to pry him away. Time will only tell Depay’s future, but until then we can only anxiously wait.
