Gennaro Gattuso had a lot to say before the AS Roma match today.

Besides the match against Roma and how Milan would face off against them, Gattuso was asked about Milan’s chances to make the Champions League, to which he replied,

We don’t even talk about this, we only focus on the next match. The team prepares for every game this way, let’s see where it take us. We can’t afford to make mistakes at this point, not in any of the competitions we are currently playing. However, we have to focus on Roma now, and then we will see what happens

The idea of taking one game at a time isn’t new, but it is the right way to get your team thinking. All too often when players start focusing on the table or the other teams around them or start thinking ahead to other matches, bad things happen. Keeping your team focused on the next game and the next game ONLY is the best way to keep everyone on task and in line.
