The positive streak continues as AC Milan get an important 3-0 win on the road against Ludogorets in the round of 32 of the Europa League. Nothing but an efficient performance by the Rossoneri, whose effort was enough to keep their opponents scoreless and get a huge advantage in this round. Let’s take a look at the numbers from this Thursday night match!
75% - Well, another — positively — shocking performance offensively as Milan put up an impressive 3 goals on 4 attempts on target (12 overall). As we mentioned before this year, the Rossoneri had one of the worst scoring percentage of the Serie A and never showed any sign of resurgence, at least until now. The team is slowly becoming more consistent and is significantly improving in efficiency thanks to Gennaro Gattuso’s training methods, which seem to be what the players needed.
47.1% - We keep talking about percentages and this one is about the ball possession. We’re used to see Milan control the game and keep their opponents away from the ball for most of the playing time, but this time it was not the same. Ludogotes played quite well and put a lot of pressure on the Rossoneri for most of the match, but they just couldn’t finish as they only recorded one attempt on target. Anyways, this number could be seen from two different points of view: one remarks the efficiency of the Rossoneri in a difficult road match, the negative one shows that the midfield struggled against an average opponent, as it also Gennaro Gattuso noticed.
4 - This is Patrick Cutrone’s fourth goal in the last 4 games. The 20-year-old striker has been almost unstoppable in this period and is earning Gattuso’s trust game after game. Also, his scoring ability produced 6 points in Serie A and almost the qualification to the next round of the Europa League, which is the definition of clutch.
We hope the positive streak will continue both in the Serie A and Europa League in order to earn a spot in the Champions League for the next season.
